Our Identity
A look behind the curtains of Monochrome
The Monochrome magazine is a tradition of Pathways School Noida; led by students, handpicked by our school's 'Head of Publications' each year, from the current batch of Grade 11. Its aim has always been to provide a platform for students to raise awareness and share their passions. Monochrome is one of three student-run publications in our school: The others being Untitled and Aaina.
Why the name 'Monochrome' when our magazines are so colorful?
While the origin of the magazine's name is a different story, what we found to be monochromatic about us was more about the distinct style we bring to the table as in how we brought together all the content and colors to create a magazine for you. As you can tell we're proud of this :)
What does our logo symbolize?
Our logo is inspired by the Egyptian symbol, the Eye of Horus. The falcon's eye view we provide gives the reader an opportunity to survey the topography of us - pathwaysians' minds. Awareness and discernment is power.

DR. SHALINI ADVANI
A Word From The School Director
To move from print to online seems such an obvious move that it hardly needs explanation. But coming up with a simple idea is often the hallmark of real creativity – as Jeff Bezos and Travis Kalanick know! Our editors may not have (yet) come up with an equivalent of an online shopping or taxi app but I am proud of our inhouse entrepreneurial thinkers for showing the communication possibilities which this open up. From videos to articles to artwork, this site reflects beautifully the richness of talent of Pathways students.
Moving away from paper makes it possible to give readers choice – which is the way everyone likes. To move easily from an article to a movie enhances the reading experience and I am sure that will be popular.
Moreover, an online version opens up lots of communication possibilities – worldwide. There is much of interest here, to a student sitting in Azerbaijan or Amsterdam and I hope making available the activities and opinions of a group of interesting young people in Noida will reach out to them.

A Word From The Publications Coordinator
“You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.” —Maya Angelou
It is incredible how Pathwaysians challenge their own creative standards and produce something so astounding that one cannot help but marvel at this unleashed energy and excellence. Monochrome, our monthly newsletter for secondary school has been so far a platform for our senior school students to share their views and opinions on issues that are close to their heart or issues that matter to them. It has also been a space for them to capture their days at school.
The team of Monochrome editors along with the technology head are at the helm of this creative pursuit, encouraging and motivating the student community and at times challenging them to think, ponder and engage with issues that need their voice. The team offers an interactive and dynamic platform to the students wherein they can voice their opinions. The readers of this newsletter will find the voice of the Pathways student community in the form of not only articles but also interviews and camera opinions, which will engage the readers and allow students to share perspectives.
Congratulations to the Editors of this newsletter for creating a space that is dynamic both in looks and character.
